Fussy eaters

For the past two months we have been having trouble with our 3 year olds eating, For the first week I just ignored it and carried on cooking him his normal dinners hoping that he would just eat them, By the second week we still had no luck with him eating his dinners then we found 4 foods that he would eat they were sausages, chicken in breadcrumbs (they had to be proper chicken breasts, tomatoes and burgers.

Obviously not a great healthy choice but we would give him one of the meat options and lots of cherry tomatoes and it was working all his dinners were being eatern for the next two weeks and then we hit problems again.

He just didn't want that anymore I felt at a loss and just didn't know what to do, So good old Google came into play and I found some advice through them of trying to get your child to cook there dinner with you, So tonight I had my son at the cooker with me and he helped cook meatballs and pasta.

To mine and my husbands shock he ate it all and looked very proud so we are going to cook lunch tomorrow and see if it works again, I'm keeping my fingers crossed it does and if it does then it looks like from now on I will be having a little helper when cooking.

The Daddy Of All Breakfast With Aldi For Fathers Day

I was asked to cook a breatfast with my kids for there dad on fathers day with all food and drink coming from Aldi, Unfortunately my 6 year old was in high demand all weekend so I roped my 3 year old into helping me, It was hard going but well worth it.

As you can see from the photo I was sent a box of 6 free range eggs, Specially Selected Ashfield Farm Smoked Sweetcure Streaky Bacon Rashers that cost £1.99, Corale Baked Beans that cost 32p, Village Bakery Thick White Bread that costs 49p, Del Rivo Orange Juice with Bits costing £1.29, Ashfield Farm Butcher’s Choice Sausages (pork) that costs £1.49 and Sweet Harvest Peeled Plum Tomatoes costing 45p.

As fathers day was sadly on a day my husband was working I had decided we would celebrate it on the Saturday instead, So Saturday morning me and my son got up and started cooking the fathers day breakfast, I have a few videos now for you all to watch.

This one is the cooking of the breakfast.

This is Daddy enjoying his breakfast.

And as I didn't want to bore you with every minute of him eating his breakfast you can watch on the next video him finishing it off.

And what fathers day doesn't have presents, Luckily our 6 year old had come home for a bit so was able to give her presents to him.

I sneakily cooked up some breakfast for myself to try and I couldn't beleave how nice it all tasted and after I told my husband what shop it all came from he now wants to go there and get more.

Our visit to Great Ormond Street Hospital

So today was the day our son had his appointment at Great ormond street hospital, We decided to go on the train to get to London as it would have cost more money to drive there, Our son was very excited to be going on a train and couldn't wait to get on it, Sadly the excitment didn't last long and he soon got bored, Luckly the train ride wasn't too long and we arrived in London and we headed off to the hospital. When we was there our son had an eye check one where he had to say what the pictures were on the board the lady was holding, She then had a look in his eyes and sent him off for some eye drops.

Once the eye drops worked we then went off to see another doctor who looked at our sons eyes more closely and then discussed what their plans are for our son, To put it into simple terms they have said they want to double check that his right eye is the strongest before they go ahead and removed the left eyes lense, they also want to try and centre his right pupil so that he can hopefully see through his lense in his right eye better.

We now have to wait 3 months for our next appointment but I feel happy knowing their plans for our son.

Why I hate cars

Last year we had a real tough time with our car constant repairs leading to us having to get a Credit card just so we knew we could pay for any part that needed fixing.

It started off with just a simple spark plug and leads, Not costing to much as we knew someone that could do if for us and do it cheap, Then it went wrong again and left everyone confused what it could be after spending more money on different parts it turned out to be a simple loose wire, So after having that fixed the car was working great months had passed with no problems.

Then it was the dreaded MOT time not thinking to much about it, My husband took it off to get tested only to come home and tell me the bad news it failed the MOT and not only that it was going to cost us over £300 to get it through the MOT, I was in complete panic as it was a tough month money wise for us but I knew we needed a car other wise my husband wouldn't be able to get into work, So after paying to get it through its Mot we was stuck with hardly any money and we had to really budget our money.

I am now dreading the next MOT and even though its a few months away yet I have already been talking to my husband about just getting rid of our current car and just getting a new one.

We are still very much undecided on what to do, I think for now we might have to just start saving money to see what happens come MOT day at least then if it fails we might be able to buy a new car for less than the cost of repairs.

As you can see I just feel they cost way to much money not only with repairs you have the price of petrol and then the road tax and insurance, Sometimes I just wish it was easier to be able to walk everywhere.

Cake and biscuit making mad
