FM Make up, Second skin foundation and mineral eyeshadow

I was asked to chose which foundation and eyeshadow I wanted to try out for review I chose the Heather intense eyeshadow, Sadly my photo does not do it justice, There is 3 colours in this eyeshadow pink, very pale pink/ possibly cream and a purple, I used it like the back of the box said and that was to layer it up with all 3 colours but you could just use one colour at a time if you wanted, This is how the box said to do it, Apply the lighter shadow to the entire eyelid, then the medium one to the middle of the eyelid and at the end model the external eye corner with the darkest colour, When you get the hang of it, Its really very simple, You can buy this eyeshadow in other colours too and the retail at £8.99 for 10g, This eye shadow is definately something I will buy again as it gives you plenty of choice on how to wear it.

When it comes to foundation I have only ever used powder so this liquid one was a whole new experience to me, I found it easy to use with its pump dispenser and found that when I was wearing it you could hardly notice I had any on at all, I also found that it left my skin feeling soft, Being liquid I thought it might have left my skin feeling and looking greasy but I was wrong, You can buy this foundation in other colours (I chose the natural cream)and they retail at £12.99 for a 30ml bottle.

Jenni's Awesome Aloe Vera Shop, Aloe proplis creme

As I suffer with eczema the lovely Jenni sent me some of her Aloe proplis creme to try out I was sent two sample sachets to try out so far I have been using it for a week and have found that you only need a little amount each time.
My skin has felt softer and where my eczema is I have notice the redness has gone and it no longer feels itchy, I also found that it doesn't leave your skin feeling sticky or greasy.

I have tried no end of creams given to me by my doctors but none of them has worked as well as this and not only does it work really well it also smells much better than any cream I have ever used.
Jenni also sells lots of other Aloe products and you can find out about all of them on her facebook page here and you can also visit her website here

Happy 6th Birthday to my not so baby girl

My oldest turned 6 on 18th may, Wow have them 6 years gone quick, I remember the day she was born so well, It was the best day of my life, Must admit I was a little shocked but the red hair but that didn't matter she was (and still is) my beautiful little girl, Friday morning she woke up and quickly ran into the living room to open her presents, Her main present from us was a Nintendo ds lite and a Moshi monster game she had been asking about for ages, So she was very happy with that and all her other presents she got.

We was running a bit late for the school run due to her wanting to play with her new toys so my neighbour took her to school in her car for me so she wouldn't be late, As her birthday was on a friday she didn't get home to me until around 6pm as she does pottery class after school and then goes out with my parents for dinner, When she finally came home she was straight on her Ds, We ended up letting her stay up for as long as she wanted, After all she has no school the next day.

On Saturday we had a party for her she was allowed to invite 6 of her friends along and lucky for her they all came, I went a bit over board on the food and my husband even said I dont think 6 adults would be able to eat all that food, Opps I bet you can all guess what our dinner was tonight.

My daughter also wanted me to make her birthday cake, She wanted Tiamo the moshi monster so I agreed as I knew it wouldn't be to hard to make as soon as my daughter saw it she loved it.

So once again Happy birthday to my not so baby girl.

Why I picked my childrens names

A lot of people often ask me where I got my kids names from and why I chose them, So I thought I would write a post about it.

First up we have Tianan, Right before I was married I had said to my now husband that If we ever have a girl I want to call her Tianan, The reason behind this is, This is the name of my auntie who passed away before I was born and I had always loved the name and thought it would be nice to keep it in the family.

Next up is my son Lucas, While pregnant with him we was having a hard time finding a nice boys name that we both agreed on then one day we was watching a film called Empire records and one of the characters names was Lucas, From the moment we herd the name we both said I like that name, So we agreed he would be called it.

And last but no means least Jovie, We wanted another unusual girls name again but couldn't find anything for ages and as I was pregnant with her over Christmas both my son and daughter kept wanting to watch the film Elf and if you have seen this film you will know the main female character in the film was called Jovie, We fell in love with it and agreed that this will be her name.

So now I have told you my reasons whats your reasons for your childrens names?

Lots on my mind

I've had so much on my mind recently, It's just been one thing after another for me so I need to get it all off my chest before I explode, It all started off when my son had his last eye appointment and we got told his eye site has got worse and was being reffered to great ormand street hospital they also said that it is likely that he will need an opperation, After being told this my heart sank, Since then I keep waiting for a letter from the hospital to see whats going to happen, Nothing has come yet and I feel in limbo at the moment because of it.

Then It must have been a month- a month and a half after being told that, That my Nan passed away over the easter bank holiday weekend, I'm still getting over this and then I hear something that really got to me.
Some woman in the playground at the school my daughter goes to was banging on about how bad her sons eye is and saying he is 95% blind in that eye, She was saying he is long sited yet in her words he can't see things far away which is wrong as most people know long sited means you can see fine for things far away just not close up. I asked my friend that talks to her to ask her what his prescrption said and low and behold shes been lying to everyone, Yes he has a bit of poor vision but its not that bad and he can see perfect far away. It really bugged me that she was telling people this in my ear shot as she knows my son and daughter have really bad eyes and all the mums at the school we're commenting saying wow how does he manage being nearly blind and all I wanted to say was why don't you come and ask a mum who's son is nearly blind.

I feel a little better after typing this out but I still feel I need a break or maybe some chocolate, a good film and a nice relaxing bath might help.

Hello baby, Brio Duck

When I think of Brio I think of the wooden train sets, Little did I know there is much more to there name, So when I was sent the Brio duck for my daughter to try out I was really excited to see what there other toys are like.
Nearly all the duck is made from wood so its a really sturdy toy which would definately last a long time, As you pull the duck along the wings flap and its head moves it even makes a quack noise, Which my daughter loves as she thinks the duck is chasing her.

Since its arrival in out house my daughter hasn't stopped playing with it, Its even got to the point that if my son takes it to play with she starts screaming until its back in her hands.
I really think its a toy thats going to be played with day after day and being made of wood I know its going to last.

The Brio Duck pull along wooden baby toy is available from Hello Baby Hello Baby.
Hello Baby also sells a wide range of other baby and nursery stuff including baby toys,Nursery furniture,Baby travel and Baby safety products they can all be found here.

As a mum of a daughter who uses soother keeping them sterile can be a bit of a problem, But with the new Milton mini portable soother steriliser thats no longer a problem.

Ninja Meerkats, The tomb of doom book

My daughter is a huge fan of Meerkats and loves to read so when we got the chance to review Ninja Meerkats, The tomb of doom, We couldn't wait for it to arrive.
What we really liked about this book was that not only does it look like a grown up book but it also has illustrations as my daughter is nearly six she likes to look at the pictures too, My daughter suffers with eye problems and need larger text in her books but she didn't need it with this book and happily sat there to read it to me, We both really like how it goes into really good detail even though there is only 109 pages, My daughter has said she would love to read the others in series and being priced at only £4.99 how can I say no.

This book is definately a great book as it really gets a childs imagination going.

Ones & Twos cloth nappy

As a lot of you already know I'm a huge cloth nappy fan, I have tried many different brands in the past, But one I hadn't got round to trying was a Ones & Twos nappy, So I was very excited to get the chance to try one out.
When it arrived I was surprised to see how small it was even though it is a birth to potty nappy, But unlike my other birth to potty ones this really will fit a baby from birth.

Each nappy comes with an additional soaker pad and a built in soaker pad so if you have a heavey wetter like my daughter you can put the extra pad in, There is also a pocket where you can insert extra pads if needed, For example if you was planning on using it over night you would normaly need extra pads that can be brought seperately.

When I put the nappy on my daughter I was very impressed with the fit and how nice a small it was on her so it doesn't look like she has a big bum, Now when you buy a new cloth nappy you are ment to wash it a few times to bring it up to full absorbency but as I was reviewing it I didn't really have the time to do that but even with out doing that my daughter managed to get 5 hours out of the nappy without it leaking, So in my eyes that very impressive.

When it came to washing I was a little concerned it might take longer to dry as it has a built in soaker pad but I'm pleased to say it took just as long as my other nappies to dry, What I also really like about Ones & Twos nappies is that the packaging has detailed washing instructions on it, Thats something I haven't seen before on other nappies and I really think its a good idea to include them.

If you would like to find out more about Ones & Twos you can visit there facebook page here where you can keep up to date with any news they may have.

Sad day tomorrow

Well tomorrow 3/5/12 is going to be a sad day for me, As its the day I get to say my final goodbye to my Nan, I have been to 3 funerals in the past but I was only young so never really knew what was going on.

I'm not really sure how I will manage as I wont have my husband with me as we decided it was best that the kids don't come, But I will have my parents and my brother and sister there with me and I know I need to be strong for my mum.

Its been nearly a month since she passed away so I have had a while to come to terms with it, Fingers crossed I will be ok.
